Are you staying grounded in today's hybrid world?
It may be hard to believe, but the first month of the new year has already come and gone while the pace of change in our life and work continues to pick up steadily.
If you’re wondering when things will slow down long enough for you to catch up, I have some bad news.
If you’re doing worthwhile work, there will always be challenges on your plate and demand for your time and talent. This means the emails, projects, and meetings won’t slow down any time soon.
Partly due to what some call the Age of Hypercomplexity, we’re living in a time where change is rapid, exponential, and unrelenting while uncertainty has become the norm.
The good news is you can still prioritize well-being and ground yourself in what seems like a groundless world.
It’s with this in mind I share my wish for you this year.
May you always have the courage to P.A.U.S.E.
May you pause, re-fill your cup, and always have more than enough to pour into yourself and others.
May you align your intentions with meaningful impact instead of being busy being busy.
May you understand the power of grace and compassion and remember we’re all doing the best we can, with what we have, right where we are.
May you serve at your highest level while keeping distractions at bay.
May you embody what it means to be a mindful changemaker in a world where the need for your time and talent has never been greater.
The pandemic gave many of us the opportunity to reset, realign, and pivot. But we’ve also experienced a collective trauma that has dramatically changed how we approach life and work.
We’re grieving the loss of loved ones and a way of life that will never return. The world has changed and will continue to evolve as we figure out what post-pandemic life will look like.
And stress, burnout, and unacknowledged trauma will undermine our recovery if we don’t make personal and workplace well-being an urgent priority moving forward.
So as you enter the rest of 2023, I invite you to P.A.U.S.E.
Wishing you all the best and much more,
Meico
